On the occasion of 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Central University of Jammu organized a various programme at the Temporary Academic Block (TAB) at Sainik Colony Jammu.

Swami Ekarthananda of Rama Krishna Mission Jammu was the main speaker on this occasion, who through light on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He said that Swami Vivekananda always stressed upon the fearlessness and spiritual strength. And for this willpower is very necessary to achieve the ultimate goal of life and at the same time physical strength, intellectual strength and spiritual strength is required.

He said that Swami Vivekananda always says that with detachment and practice we can achieve intellectual growth and spiritual growth in our life. So we should always take risk in life which can only be possible with strength and will power. Swami Ekarthananda exhorted that teachings of Swami Vivekananda are very much essential in the present materialistic time to get rid of ego, anger and selfishness and we all should serve for the upliftment of mankind. Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, in his presidential address said that, “let there be a harmony among mankind” this was the message of Swami Vivekananda and we all should follow the teaching of Swami Ji and work for the welfare of mankind in our life. He said that stillness in our thoughts, words and action will make us a better human being. Dr. Bachha Babu delivered the formal vote of thanks . On this occasion Prof. Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator, Heads , faculty and students were present. Earlier before the programme, an essay competition and was also held at CUJ on the life of Swami Vivekananda and a documentary film was also screened in the programme.
