The three day Annual Sports Meet of Central University of Jammu commenced with a lot of enthusiasm at main Campus Rahya-Suchani (Bagla). A Competition of seven games shall held over the next three days.

Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ inaugurated the Meet by striking the first shot of the Carrom. While speaking on the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Ashok Aima expressed joy at the scale at which the event is organised and expressed hope that the scale of the event will grow in times to come. Prof Aima appreciated the efforts of Dean Student welfare and his team for organising the event at main campus. He encouraged the participant of all the events and stressed that taking up any form of physical activity is essential for overall development. Stating his own life experiences, Prof. Aima related that for building character, developing resilience and generating team spirit, sports in any form is an essential part of campus life.

Haji Mirza Hussain, Dy. Director, J&K Youth Services & Sports the guest of honor for the inaugural ceremony congratulated the participants and encouraged them to play and compete with honesty.

Sh. Jit Singh, Registrar, Central University of Jammu complimented the efforts of the organizing team. Earlier Prof. Lokesh Verma welcomed the gathering. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Deans, Heads, Faculty Members and University Officers. Dr. Pavinder Singh, Dean Student Welfare presented a formal vote of thanks. The proceeding of the event was conducted by Dr. Bharti Gupta.
