CUJ to organise first National Conference of media in Jammu

The Department of Mass Communication & New Media, Central University of Jammu gears up for the first National Conference on media in collaboration with the Press Club of Jammu.  The two-day long National Conference on ‘Changing Dynamics of Media Landscape’ will bring together media practitioners and academicians of international repute for a critical overview of contemporary media scenario. The Conference is scheduled to be held in the campus of Central University of Jammu at Sainik Colony on May 6-7, 2016.

This conference is a gathering of media practitioners, journalists, academicians and research scholars. Eminent personalities like Mr. Rajesh Badal, Executive Director, Rajya Sabha TV, Prof. Rajbir Singh, Director, Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), an apex body of University Grant Commission (UGC), Prof. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP), Dr. A Surya Prakash, Chairperson, Prasar Bharti and Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu will be the resource persons for the conference.

Prof. Shambhunath Singh, Director, School of Mass Communication & Journalism, IGNOU, New Delhi, Prof. Ashok Ogra, Director, Apeejay School of Mass Communication, New Delhi, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, President, Press Club of Jammu and Mr. Balwant Thakur, eminent theatre personality will share their views on variety of themes followed by a panel discussion.

The conference will cover topics relevant to the pursuit of media ethics, gender representation, eco-media, conflict reporting, political economy and mediatisation with critical research paper presentations by scholars from all over India.
