Constitution Day Celebrated at Central University of Jammu

On the eve of Constitution Day on 26 November, Central University of Jammu today organised a function both at Main Campus, Raya Suchani, Bagala and Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony, Jammu.


At Bagala the function was organised by the office of the Dean Students’ Welfare and Department of Public Policy And Public Administration (PPPA) to celebrate the “Constitution Day”. The program started with the Speeches on Fundamental Duties, preamble of the constitution and Fundamental rights of the citizen in which various students and research scholar of the Department participated actively. This was followed by screening of the Documentary on Making up of the Constitution of India which lasted for nearly forty minutes. After that an interactive session on planning and enforcement of various laws and acts enshrined in the constitution of India were debated.

In the post lunch session the Preamble, Pledge and Fundamental Duties of the Citizen were read out by the I/C Registrar Mohd. Iqbal followed by University Officials, Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students of the University. The programme was coordinated by research scholars Manik Sharma, Pallvi and Tsering Dorjey. Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Devanand, Head of Department PPPA, Prof. Malika Joseph, HOD, EVS Prof. H.S. Sehgal, Assistant Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Pankaj Mehta, Asstt. Prof. PPPA, Dr Govind Inakhaiya, At Temporary Academic Block, Dr. D.L.Choudhary, Incharge Yoga Centre of Central University of Jammu read out the preamble of the Constitution as well as fundamental duties of the citizens. Speaking on the occasion, he asked the faculty, staff and students to defend our Constitution by taking pledge to work for the unity & integrity of the country.
