The three days cultural event “UDAAN” organized by the office of Dean Students Welfare of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) concluded here today at Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony Jammu.

In the three days cultural event which started on 16th Feb at Main campus Bagala students of various department performed various cultural and curricular activities such as Rangoli, Collage making, On-the-Spot painting and on second day Light Vocal Solo, Photography, Poetry, Mime, Skit were performed and on third day Mimicry, Fancy Dress Competition, Folk Group Song, Folk Group Dance.

Pertinent to mention that every year office of Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Central University of Jammu conducted cultural event UDAAN for the student of the university to show their talent. The result of all the event declared today by the adjudicators and in Rangoli competition Department of EVS (Group.9) declared first, Department of Plant Sciences (Group. 17) declared second, and Department of EVS (Group 30) declared as third. In the Collage competition Neha Sandhu of Deptt of MBA &TTM declared First, Jyoti Sharma, Deptt. of English declared Second and Rahul Deptt of NSS declared third. In On-spot painting competition Vishnu Prasad Deptt of English declared as first, Waqa Ahmad, Deptt of Economics declared as Second and Syed Sidra Haq declared as third.
In Light Vocal Solo competition Juhi Singh, Deptt of NSS declared as firs, while second position shared by Swati Magotra & Jishnu both Deptt of English similarly third position also shared by Monika Jain, Deptt of NSS and Manisha Andotra, Deptt of Social Work. In Photography Radika Bali, Deptt of English declared first, Diksha Dhar Deptt. of MCNM declared second while Mohd. Tariq V, Deptt of MBA and Ashish Kohli, Deptt of MCNM both shared third position.

In Poetry competition Gurvinder Kour, Deptt of English declared first, Shubham Sharma, Deptt of PPPA declared second and Insha Nabi deptt of MCNM declared third. In MIME competition Deptt of Marketing and Supply Chain (Group 22 ) declared first, Deptt. of Social Work (Group. 19) declared second and Deptt. of English (Group. 17) declared third. In Skit competition Deptt of NSS (Team 1) declared first, Deptt of Plant Sciences (Team IV) declared second, while Deptt of EVS (Group II) and Deptt of MBA TTM (Group VI) both declared third.
And on the last day competition in Mimicry Himanshu, Deptt of HRM & OB declared first, Amit Gupta, Deptt of MCNM declared second and Prabhjyot, Deptt of English declared third. In fancy dress competition Insha Nabi Deptt of MCNM declared first, Madhu Fakwaria, Deptt. of EVS declared second while Manmeet Kour, Deptt of Education and Sonakshi Malhotra, Deptt of English both declared third.

In the Folk Group Song competition Deptt of EVS (Team 1 Shagun Gupta & group) declared first, Deptt. of Education Sem-2 (Team 8 Lakshmi Devi & Group) declared second and Deptt of Education (Sem IV) Team 3 Monica and gropu declared third.

In the Folk Group Dance competition Deptt of Social Work (Team 13) Neha Bharti and group declared as first, Deptt. of MCNM (Team 4) Krishna and group declared second while Deptt of EVS (Tea, 6) Madhu & Group and Deptt. of Social Work (Team 11) Abhilash Bora and group both declared third.

In the valedictory session, Prof. Devanand, Dean Students Welfare (DSW) congratulated the winners and participants of this three day cultural event and expressed hope that these type of cultural event will give them exposure and help to nurture their talents to reach greater heights.. Assistant Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Pankaj Mehta and Dr. Gaurav Sehgal as also member secretary, Dr. Govind Inakhaiya, Dr. Archana Kumari and Dr. Vandana Sharma were among other distinguished gathering present.
