The Department of Nano Sciences and Materials of Central University of Jammu organized a two day National Conference on 'Materials for Sustainable Development & New Technology (MSDNT-2017) is association with Materials Research Society of India, Delhi Chapter.

The National Conference on Materials for Sustainable Development and New Technology inaugrated by Dr. Dinakar Kanjilal, Director, Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC). He explained about global position of India in developing commercial detectors. During his key note address, he talked about future of detector technology in measuring size of sub-nano particles.

During his presidential remarks, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima has congratulated the organizing committee for organizing national conference and welcomed the scientists from all over the India. He also mentioned that he is much concerned about development of scientific temperament in Central University of Jammu.
Earlier, Prof. S K Khosa, HOD, Department of Nano Sciences and Materials has welcomed all the delegates in welcome address and explained about purpose of the conferences. According to him, conference is all about development of sustainable materials and technology.

Later, during inaugural function, an abstract book of accepted research publications for this conference was released jointly by Prof. Ashok Aima, Prof S K Khosa, Prof Sandeep Kumar, Dr. D Kanjilal, Dr. C Prakash and Prof. Devanand.

The Conference was attended by all the Deans & Heads of various department.
