One month Yoga Camp commences at CUJ

A month long YOGA Camp was organized by Central University of Jammu here today, as part of International Day of Yoga which was sponsored by Ministry of AYUSH Government of India.
The Yoga camp was organized by the Yoga Centre of Central University of Jammu which was formally inaugurated by Prof. Ashok Aima, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu. About 100 students residing in different hostels of CUJ participated in the yoga camp organized at Galaxy College of Education, Sainik Colony, Jammu.


The Yoga activities included warm up exercises, Asanas, Pranya-Yamas and meditation. The focus was made on healthy life style to adopt disciplined life.
The Yoga camps was inaugurated by lightning of ceremonial lamp by Prof. Ashok Aima, speaking on the occasion he said that “Yoga is a life of a person and helps in maintaining physical health, mental health and also helps in achieving spiritual parameters of a person.” Prof. Ashok Aima lauded the efforts of the Yoga centre of CUJ to take initiative for starting one month free Yoga camps w.e.f. 21 May to 21 June, 2017.


Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Prof. Indu Aima, former Director IIPA Jammu, Prof. Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator of CUJ, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Registrar, Prof. N.K.Tripathi, HoD Plant and Animal Sciences, CUJ, Dr. K.C.Sharma, cardiologist and Yoga exponent from Udhampur and Sh. Arun Sharma, Chairman Galaxy Group of Education.


The proogramme was conducted by Dr. D.L.Choudhary, Incharge the Yoga Centre and Sh. S.K.Jain, Yoga expert. The wardens of all the three hostels Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dr. Vanita and Ms. Prerna were also present in the Yoga camp. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. D.L. Choudhary.
