CUJ ORGANISES LECTURE ON INDIAN MANAGEMENT AS ENVISAGED BY SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

CUJ organized Lecture on “Indian Management as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda” under Eminent Lecture Series at its Temporary Academic Block. Prof. Sunita Singh Sengupta, from Department of Management Studies, Delhi University, who is the founder editor of many International journals and disciplines related to good governance and ethics while delivering the lecture narrated the teachings of the spiritual leader, Swami Vivekananda. Highlighting Swamiji as an economist and a strategist and to understand about the psyche of Swamiji, She focused on the aspects that shaped Swamiji’s frame of mind, his transformation from the most reactionary person to the choicest disciple of his teacher Sri Ramakrishna. She emphasized on Swamiji’s saying ‘as many views so many paths’ which Swamiji had realized much before he addressed the people of Chicago on 11 September 1893 which now is celebrated as the Universal Brotherhood Day. She further emphasized on Swamiji’s teachings of training of the mind to increase the power of concentration. She said Swami Vivekananda was a man of action and taught to be a ‘karmayogi’. Believing on Swamiji’s Philosophy, She gave the mantra of living fearlessly to the Audience. Her lecture revolved around the idea of spirituality, secular knowledge, morality and ethical values. She also said that Swamiji was a man of Vedanta and Virtues and emphasized on the saying of Sri Ramakrishna, “He who has learnt to dance correctly never makes a false step…”. She also stressed on the sayings of Swamiji one of which was “Don’t go conquering others, conquer your own nature” in a gist she narrated the management students about how to do things in a responsible way.

Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Prof. H.S. Sehgal and Prof. Lokesh Verma along with faculty members of the various Departments of the Central University of Jammu were present during the lecture. Students of University were also present to take the maximum benefit from the lecture organised.
