CUJ FACULTY FORMALLY WELCOMES THE NEWLY APPOINTED VICE-CHANCELLOR

The faculty of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) formally welcomed the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ashok Aima. He was presented a shawl by the former Incharge Vice-Chancellor of CUJ, Prof. Devanand accompanied by other senior faculty members of the University. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Aima said that he takes his appointment as a challenge to take the young University forward which needs strong and bold initiatives rather than a coveted position. In his motivational and inspiring speech, the VC revealed that each Department of the University can write a minor project for which it will get a grant of Rs. 10,000/- from the University. A cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- will be given to the research paper published in a journal with highest impact factor, said Prof. Aima. He revealed that the recent visit of Dr. Jatinder Singh, The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, was rewarding for the University as the University will start three research centres in the vital areas of Space Technology, Earth Sciences, and Atomic Energy. Hardly there is any University in the country which has all the three centres together. Prof. Aima was particular about the posting of Academic Calendar on the University website to make teaching more interactive and learner oriented. The syllabi of our University should match with the UGC NET syllabi, said Prof. Aima.

Prof. Devanand, the former Incharge VC of the University appreciated the new initiatives taken by Prof. Aima and said that the University will progress at a fast pace under his able leadership.

Prof. R.L. Bhatt, formally welcomed the VC and the galaxy of faculty including Deans, Heads of the Departments and the Registrar of the University. Prof. Bhatt on his own behalf and on behalf of the faculty assured the VC all help in achieving his goals that he had envisioned for the University Dr. Balliya extended the formal Vote of thanks and Dr. Neelika Arora conducted the proceedings of the function.
