Two-day annual cultural event Udaan

Two-day annual cultural event ‘Udaan’ began today at Central University of Jammu. A galaxy of events is a part of the festival that gives the students a chance to display their talents. The first day witnessed six colorful events where the students and scholars showcased their talents. The campus was enthused with youthful energy. Speaking on the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, impressed upon the students to actively participate in the events during the two days. He stressed upon the fact that at Central University of Jammu, we collectively strive to achieve excellence for contributing towards nation building in general and society in particular. This in turn helps in the institutional brand building. He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Pavinder Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare for organising the two day festival.


Earlier Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Head Department of HRM &OB, welcomed the august gathering and stated that this two day event “Udaan” provides wings to the students for giving a flight to their dreams and hidden talent. She informed that the events during the two day will include competitions like Rangoli, Light Vocal Solo, Mimicry, On the spot Painting, Poetry recitation, Photography, Folk Group Song, Folk dance, Collage and Fancy Dress.


Dean students’ welfare, Dr. Pavinder Singh, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, for his patronage and support for facilitating the cultural festival. He also placed on record his appreciation for the faculty of Central University of Jammu who worked as a team for organising this cultural festival. He further, encouraged and appreciated the students as the event is the students show. He also apprised that the logo of the festival “Udaan” was also designed by the students of the University.
