Awareness program on Innovation and IPR issues held at CUJ

The University Business Incubation Centre and University Innovation Cell of Central University of Jammu, organised awareness program on Innovation and IPR issues. This was the first lecture of the series announced by the Vice Chancellor, CUJ Prof Ashok Aima, for creating awareness on Entrepreneurship in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. He had announced Rs 25,000/- cash award to the best idea and also complete financial support to the business idea submitted to UBIC for entrepreneurial support. In this series, Mr. Irtif from JKEDI and Mr. Salil Aband Astt. Director MSME presented their views on Innovation and Incubation.


Also a detailed presentation was given by Dr. Pankaj Mehta, Co-ordinator, University Innovation Cell. Earlier, Dr. Jaya Bhasin Chairperson UBIC formally welcomed the gathering and informed that seven ideas have been registered under UBIC till date. She apprised that UBIC is active in generating awareness about Innovation and Incubation, wherein during last academic session, one awareness workshop had been conducted, sponsored by DEITY, GoI. She further informed that this lecture series shall be conducted for both the campuses i.e. TAB (Temporary Academic Block) and Bagla campus, where Dr Pankaj Mehta shall coordinate the activities at Main Campus, Bagla and Dr Shahid Mushtaq shall coordinate the activities at Temporary Academic Block(TAB). Formal vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Anjali Pathania, Asst. Prof HRM & OB and the event was coordinated by Mr. Gowhar Rasool. All the faculty members, research scholars and students attended the awareness program. During the day a detailed meeting of UBIC sub committee was held for the screening of ideas and review of UBIC.


Earlier in the morning, a field visit for the students of B. Voc. Tourism Management, IInd and IIIrd semester was organised. The students visited various hotels and resorts including Hotel Jhelum Resort. In this visit the induction was given with regard to functioning of hospitality sector. Manjeet Singh, Asst. Prof TTM Dept coordinated the activity.
