CUJ Celebrates 68th Republic Day

The Central University of Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day at Main Campus, Bagla and Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony, Jammu. Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu unfurled the National flag at both the places and delivered the Republic Day speech. While addressing the university fraternity Prof Aima recalled the sacrifice made by our national leaders soon after Independence in order to make India a true republic where actual power vested with the people. He urged the members of the university to strive for excellence in their respective field in order to build a robust university system.


He also highlighted the various achievements made by the young faculty members of CUJ who have received research grant up to 3 crores from various government agencies in the past one year. Appreciating the role of National Service Scheme (NSS), which has organised the RD programme in the campus, he emphasised that we should engage in character building of youth besides providing a value based education. 70 per cent of population of India comprises of youth below 35 years old and their talent and energy should be channelised for nation building and social development.


The NSS unit of CUJ organised cultural programmes including songs, dances and skits, while two skits propagating "Thumb is Your Bank"and "beti bachao beti padhao" were also performed by NSS volunteers.
