GOC for newly appointed Assistant Professors of Urdu concluded at CUJ

The Valedictory function of General Orientation Course for newly appointed Assistant Professors in Urdu, Higher Education department J&K was organized at TAB, CUJ. Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor in his valedictory session congratulated the newly appointed Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department, J&K and encouraged them to work with complete dedication towards uplifting the education standard across the region. He stressed on the role of teachers as nation builders in the changing socio-economic diaspora.


This was the 4th batch of newly appointed Assistant Professors in Urdu who participated in the course. It is pertinent to mention here that 185 Assistant Professors of various disciplines have been oriented from January 2017 onwards. Participants were acquainted with various contemporary general issues of social significance, service conduct rules, financial codes, IPR, soft skills and research methodology.
Resource persons from various institutions across the state were drawn to provide diverse perspectives to the participants. The highlight of this course included yoga sessions that were conducted every day during the program. Earlier welcoming the august gathering on 10th March, Course Coordinator of the program Dr. Shahid Mushtaq informed that this orientation program was conducted by Faculty Induction and Development Cell across various disciplines i.e. History, Psychology, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Bio-chemistry and Statistics etc. Participants expressed their satisfaction over the conduct of the program.


The program was conducted under the overall supervision of Academic Coordinator Prof Lokesh K. Verma. At the end of the session Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Director, DIQA read the report of the complete program. She informed that in future more such programs shall be organized for the faculty members. The program ended with formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Neelika Arora.
