National Conference on Materials for sustainable Development and New Technology concludes at CUJ

The Department of Nano Sciences and Materials of Central University of Jammu successfully completed a two day National Conference on 'Materials for Sustainable Development & New Technology (MSDNT-2017) is association with Materials Research Society of India, Delhi Chapter.


Honourable, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima, has presided the Valedictory function and he thanked the august gathering of scientists and scholars from across India. He said that it would certainly benefit the Central University of Jammu in general and Department of Nano Sciences and Materials in particular. Prof. Aima also congratulated the organizing team and announced an International Co

nference in next March, 2018. He expressed his happiness with success of the national conference.
In concluding remarks, Prof. S K Khosa, HOD Department of Nano Sciences and Materials mentioned that there are 34 oral presentations and 45 poster presentations. He also mentioned about lecture delivered by Prof. P N Kotru how one can grow single crystal especially M-type hexaferrite crystals. An appreciable lecture by Dr. Chandra Praksh about DRDO and how one can receive funding and research assistance from DRDO.


The talk of Dr. A M Biradar of NPL, New Delhi was also very informative about application of liquid crystals in daily lives. One cannot forget the talk of Prof. Sandeep Kumar of RRI, Bangalore for long time, the way he explained about change in conductivity of discotic liquid crystals by attaching nano-particles to it. Dr. S P Singh of NPL, New Delhi also gave a talk on use of nano-particles in cancer therapy. Dr. Anil K Thakur of Department of Nano Sciences and Materials, Central university of Jammu delivered talk on use of nano particles in organic solar cells.
The faculties of Department of Nano Sciences and Materials, Central university of Jammu also delivered many talks on exciting topics.


The Vote of thanks delivered by organizing secretary of MSDNT, Dr. Vishal Singh, he thanked all the delegates.
The function was attended by all Deans, all HOD's, Prof. Lokesh Verma and Prof N K Tripathi.
