The valedictory function of one week International Workshop on Soft materials & Devices (IWSMD-2018) was concluded on 25th March, 2018 at Department of Nano Sciences and Materials, Central University of Jammu. The chief guest of the function was Prof. Sandeep Kumar of Raman Research Institute, Bangalore. Prof. S K Khosa (Chairperson), Dr. Anil K Thakur (Convener) and Dr. Vishal Singh (Secretary) were also present.

The proceedings of the workshop were summarized by Prof. Sandeep Kumar and Dr. Anil K Thakur who gave on account of the work that were presented by the speakers. A total of 15 lectures were delivered by international and national experts on Soft Matter technology.

Among international experts, Dr. Lionel Hirsch (Director, CNRS, France) delivered lecture on Perovskite solar cell techniques and Prof. Laurence (University of Bordeaux, France) talked about printable and foldable polymeric solar cell. The Prof. Goran Ungar (University of Sheffield, UK) showed a new phase of soft matter and Prof. Kuball (University of Kaiserslautern, Germany) talked about possibilities of chiral system in Soft matter. One cannot forget the lecture of Dr. Richa Chauhan (University of Basel, Switzerland).

Among national experts, Prof. Vinay Gupta (University of Delhi, Delhi) and Prof. A M Biradar (NPL, New Delhi), Dr. S P Singh (NPL, New Delhi) and Dr. Vipul Singh ( IIT, Indore) had delivered very impressive and informative talks. Dr. Tanuj Kumar and Dr. Pawan Kumar were also took part in the function.
The valedictory function ended with distribution of participation certificates by the chief guest to the participants of the IWSMD-2018.
