Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organized National Conference on Education, Employment and Empowerment: Issues and Challenges here at Main Campus, Central University of Jammu today, in association with National Working Group on Employment New Delhi.

The event started with the condolence of the late Manohar Parrikar. The event inaugurated by the Chief Guest by lightning the lamp. Dean Students Welfare (DSW), Prof Deepak Pathania welcomed the Guests.
Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, U.P., while addressing the jam-packed Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, CUJ, stressed upon the use of new technology and innovation. “Machine learning and algorithm has strategically changed production marketing, its more reliable and trustworthy than analysis by human labour. Products made by Indian Companies and brands need to be developed”, he said and added that we have to develop home grown products. “If we can assemble parts of different machines, like whirlpool, BMW etc. why can’t we produce them”, he said, encouraging youth to be a job provider rather be job seeker.

“China makes 80 percent solar panel for which India is exporting 2 lacs labour per day for purpose. Until when we don’t develop manufacturing ecosystem, we cannot turn into an entrepreneur county”, he added.
Raj Nehru Vice Chancellor, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana, in his address taking over various issue to opt the technology, he recommended more and more funds for higher education in the country. “India has huge potential, we competing at international level as well, the youngsters should go for entrepreneurship, rather than waiting for government jobs”, he said, encouraging the youths he quoted several Indian who are heading multinational companies in aboard.
Amit Sharma Special Secretary, Transport J&K, speaking on the occasion shared various schemes launched by J&K Government to provide platform to youth to start their business. “The J&K government, apart from launching various schemes for unemployed youths to start their business, has several institutes like JKEDI that provide to platform for better tomorrow”, he added.
Satish Kumar from National Working Group on Employment, New Delhi, said that the young is capable to be job provide rather than a job seeker. “I saw many instances, where in youth started a business with a minor investment and turned millionaire”, Kumar said and added that the founder of OYO Rooms, got an idea to start his business while finding a room at Shimla. “Ritesh Agarwal who owns , OYO Rooms also known as OYO, is India’s largest hospitality company, founded in 2013”, he added.

Vice Chancellor CUJ, Prof. Ashok Aima, in his address said that this kind of event provides a great opportunity to share our ideas, how we can into the process of nation building a collective manner at National level. “This event is organized to create awareness among the stakeholder, we need to work on conversion of thought into innovation, this innovation is need to be brought at local level supported by market, technology and finance”, he added.

In second session, MLC Ajay Bharti, while addressing youngsters said that education and employment goes hand in hand but educated should not be inclined toward government jobs. “Instead they should go for business-venture, which has great opportunities in India”, he added. Three scholars from Education, while one from Public Policy and Public Administration presented research papers on theme. Deans, Heads, Professors, Teachers and students from various departments attended the Conference. Prof. Vandana Sharma, Department of English presented formal vote of thanks.
