About the Directorate of Physical Education

The Directorate of Physical Education, Central University of Jammu was set up since University came into the existence (2011). In order to encourage sports activities among the students, Directorate used to organize annual sports meet which includes all indoor and outdoor games. Teams of the University participate in the various sports events organized by the AIU.  Directorate of Physical Education promotes all-round development and develops interest among students regarding the need and importance of sports and exercise, which is medium to improve the community health. The Directorate is also proud to have organized various Tournaments which not only improves the sporting talent of the students but also help the students to improve upon their organizational and leadership qualities we strongly believe in saying that a healthy body is a perfect key to a healthy mind. Directorate of Physical Education functions under the overall control and supervision of the University Director of Physical Education.

Our aim Excellence in Sports

The main objective of the Directorate of Physical Education is to foster sportsman spirit inculcating a sense of discipline, co-operation, social harmony, integrity, and fitness among the players. Directorate of Physical Education feels concerned about the health and fitness of Central University of Jammu employees also and organizes sports meet for them every year. Students participate in games like football, volleyball, table-tennis, badminton, cricket, kabaddi, tug of war, and athletics. The participation of the University employees is always encouraging. It has proved to be a very useful scheme for university employees and students.
