Central University of Jammu offers Consultancy Services to Industries, Service Sector, Govt. Departments and other National and International agencies in niche areas of expertise available in the University. The service offered shall be along the lines of 'Professional Services' and will hence carry with them obligations and ethical requirements associated with such services as indicated in the Standard terms and conditions of Central University of Jammu.
The request can be to solve almost any type of problem / need in almost every discipline of engineering, technology, science, social sciences and humanities. The University through its Faculty / Scientist / Technical Staff can handle such external requests of the industry/agency that can come under the term consultancy in its broadest sense.
Since these services are along the lines of 'Professional Services', offered at the request of a client for solving their issues and problems pertaining to the above, a fee is charged for undertaking such projects.
Consultancy and related services offered are mainly of majorly in two categories:
Category A: Expert Advice and Development Projects:- This type of project will be Expertise intensive and based on the expertise of the Consultant. For example:
o Retainership of faculty in advisory capacity over specified periods
o Human Resource development programmes
o Recruitment/entrance examinations
o Validation of designs/drawings
o Analytical studies
o Cause - and - remedy studies
o Simulation/ modeling/ optimization
o Design of systems/components/processes
o Development of industrial products/systems
o Development of systems software/application software for offline/online applications.
o Development of laboratories
Category B: Analysis/Testing Projects:- This type of project will be Infrastructure intensive and will be based on extensive usage of the institute infrastructure. For example:
o Analysis/Testing of industrial products/samples
o Calibration
