Language is the soul of human civilization, a carrier of human empathy, social harmony, and cultural values. It is not only a medium for the exchange of ideas within a society, but also a symbol of self-respect. The truth is that language is a special gift to human society in this natural world. If there were no language, the entire world would be devoid of consciousness. It is accepted that language gives concrete form to the abstract feelings of living beings. Therefore, it is the utmost duty of all of us to preserve and nurture this flower of language, received as a divine gift. The contribution of language to human intellectual development is commendable, and in a multilingual nation like India, the efforts being made to preserve and promote languages are highly praiseworthy. Keeping this in mind, the objective of language faculties established in educational institutions, especially at the university level, is to impart linguistic and literary knowledge to students, while also developing creativity, critical thinking, research capacity, and a sense of social responsibility. Our faculty is committed to excellent teaching and research in diverse areas of English, Hindi, and other Indian languages, literature, linguistics, translation studies, and cultural discourse. Quality education is provided to students through experienced faculty, rich library resources, and a research-oriented environment. The faculty continuously encourages innovation, interdisciplinary studies, and a global perspective, in keeping with the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020. In this digital age, the importance of languages is constantly increasing globally. Furthermore, scientific and technological advances have transformed the world into a global village. The growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) has made the role of language experts crucial in the fields of communication, media, translation, publishing, administration, education, and international cooperation. Our faculty, whether in English or Hindi, strives to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values that will help them achieve professional success, as well as become sensitive and informed citizens. Along with this, a commendable effort is underway to preserve the Indian knowledge heritage and foster a sense of nationalism among students and researchers. The Faculty of Languages' academic achievements, research work, literary activities, and cultural programs are a testimony to its rich tradition and excellence. I am confident that our students and researchers, with their dedication, hard work, and innovative approach, will achieve new heights and further enrich the University's glorious legacy.
