Community College, Central University of Jammu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Star Health and Allied Insurance Company. Ltd, Chennai shall encompass Students Training and Placement, Skill Development, Executive Development/Capacity Building Programmes, organisation of joint lectures and/or symposia/seminars/ conferences/ industry meet(s) etc Joint Certification(s)/ Industry sponsored Certification(s)/Programme(s) forVocational learners and Inputs for development and periodic revision of Course Curriculum. The MoU was signed by Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar Central University of Jammu and Mr. Karan Passi, Assistant Zonal Manager Jammu and Kashmir, Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, representatives of Star Health and Allied Insurance and Faculty members of School of Business Studies. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor said that such collaborations would help in bridging the gap between academia and industry besides fostering the ecosystem of professional development of students. Prof. Jain said that he is looking forward for more such collaborations with eminent academic institutions and Industry for developing Community College, Central University of Jammu as a Centre of Excellence in skilling ecosystem and vocational education. Mr. Karan Passi spoke about the opportunities available for vocational learners in the Banking industry in general and Insurance industry in particular. Mr. Karan Passi announced that an industry certification course under SAKSHAM Programme would be conducted by Star Health for vocational learners enrolled in Community College.
