It gives me great pleasure to present the DNSM department. The DNSM department began in 2016 as Nanoscience and Materials, offering M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes. Our academic curricula encompass a wide range of topics related to Materials Science, from basic principles to cutting edge and developing fields like energy materials, nanomaterials, biomaterials, electron microscopy, thermomechanical processing, thin films and devices, and metal extraction and recovery from wastes, to mention a few. These courses provide students with a solid foundation in several important areas of Materials and Metallurgical Science and raise their level of knowledge.

Our department covers a wide range of cutting-edge topics, including integrated semiconductor and non-destructive testing materials and devices, integrated computational materials, and more, through the flexible fractal academic programme that is available. We also help these topics stand firm by providing in-depth knowledge on the core concepts of materials science. Furthermore, the majority of teaching courses include practical elements. Students in the M.Sc. programme have the chance to obtain practical experience with all of the instruments and techniques in addition to a year-long project-based thesis and lab practical. Students are also schooled in communication skills through formal courses, seminars, and technical writing professional ethics/plagiarism courses in order to become industry-ready.

The DNSM family has expanded its reach into all facets of Materials over the years with the help of its faculty, staff, and researchers. With several cutting-edge tools at its disposal, the DNSM is conducting research on the three main pillars of structural, functional, and computational materials. Its branches are focused on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Advanced materials characterization, Energy materials, Advanced alloys and composites, and more.
