MeitY GENESIS - Pilot & Matching Fund Component, CUJ SITE COUNCIL CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU

Pilot Funding:The launch of GENESIS – Pilot Component aims to support eligible startups with funding of up to ₹40 Lakhs per startup to execute pilot projects in collaboration with corporates, PSUs, or large enterprises.

Eligibility Criteria

For Corporates (Pilot Partners):

• Minimum turnover of ₹75 crore+ in the last audited financial year.
• At least 5 years of operations.
• Preference: Govt of India/State govt./PSUs, Fortune 500 companies, large corporates (Indian/Global), unicorn startups.

For Startups:

• Must be a DPIIT registered startup.
• Should be working in ICT-related domains: IT & AI, electronic design & manufacturing, tech/deeptech products.
• Must have: MVP/working prototype, viable business plan, full-time founder/co-founder.
• Must have a Pilot work order/ Purchase order from eligible corporate/PSU/unicorn.

Matching Fund:This component aims to support startups with validated solutions and proof of concept by facilitating market access, investor linkages, and scaling opportunities through global connections. It offers a 1:1 matching grant of up to ₹50 Lakhs, based on external funds raised.

Startup Eligibility CriteriaTo be eligible for the program, a startup must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a registered Indian entity (Private Limited Company) with at least 51% Indian ownership.
• Must be registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city.
• Must have a valid DPIIT certificate.
• Should work on a tech-based product/software in domains like Deep-tech, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain, Fintech, Ed-tech, or Health-tech.
• Must have a market-ready product and preferably be revenue-generating.
• Preference is given to startups with granted patents.
• Must not be involved in any legal disputes.
• Funding is a 1:1 matching grant ranging from up to 50 lakhs based on external funds raised (government grants are not considered).
• Cannot be a startup previously supported under the TIDE 2.0 (Scale up) or Samridh schemes.
• The funding instrument is equity.

The Genesis Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program at CUJ SITE COUNCIL, CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU supported by MeitY Startup Hub, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is designed to nurture early-stage tech entrepreneurs with high-impact, scalable solutions. This program offers a structured pathway for aspiring founders to validate, refine, and scale their ideas through a supportive ecosystem that includes financial assistance, expert mentoring, market access, and infrastructure support. With a sharp focus on Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the GENESIS EiR initiative at CUJ SITE COUNCIL, CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU seeks to bridge the gap between innovation and commercialization, especially in underserved regions. By empowering promising entrepreneurs with the right tools and guidance, the program aims to create sustainable innovators and startups that drive digitization, inclusivity, and economic growth in emerging innovation hubs.

Who Can Apply?

• An India citizen and full-time UG/PG student OR a founder/co-founder of a DPIIT- registered startup (≤ 2 years old).
• You must be from or building a solution for a Tier II or Tier III city.
• You must be available for full-time, physical incubation at CUJ SITE COUNCIL, Central University of Jammu
• Your startup should not have received significant prior funding (exceeding ₹10 Lakhs).

Your Idea Should Focus On:

• Sectors: Electronics, Deeptech, IT/ICT.
• Technologies: AI/ML, IoT, Semiconductor/VLSI, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, AR/VR, Quantum Computing.
• Stage: Ideation, Validation, Proof of Concept (PoC), or Prototyping.
